The left-handedest compliment I have received

I got an email from Deccan Herald, saying that as I was sending articles to different departments, different people were selecting it..and the result was that my articles were being featured too often in the newspaper for a freelancer. So I should, the email said, space my articles henceforth, and submit one 15 days after one got published! I don’t know whether to feel complimented, amused or annoyed…red tape is everywhere….

A friend’s son was getting married…a Wharton business school graduate who put his name on Shaadi.com and found a response from….a schoolmate! The date was the same as our 30th wedding anniversary , and we decided that we would celebrate it there.

I am watching murder being done...

About 15-odd trees, beautiful rain trees which were just spreading out and thriving, were cut down 3 years or more ago, to make way for the Jayadeva Circle flyover which was going to ease traffic and make a wonderful thing out of Bannerghatta Road. The flyover is yet to be completed and we live close to it, in a mess of dust and diverted traffic.
