The problem about remembering/forgetting birthdays is...

I just read the comments I got about remembering birthdays….and the problem isn’t as simple as just forgetting. There are SOME friends whose birthdays I always seem to remember and to whom I send good wishes; these friends always go around singing my praises about how I never forget and how good a friend I am …and Murphy’s Law mandates that these praises are sung in the presence of the friends whose b’days/ anniversaries I have just forgotten. Thus giving the  forgotten-special-day  friends the impression that I don’t care for them.

How important is it to remember birthdays?

I have forgotten, I find, to wish two close friend son their birthdays recentlyy…and also realize that one friend’s daughter, recently married, celebrated her  birthday was a few days ago. I don’t really set all that much store by birthdays, but don’t want to upset anyone else’s feelings or make them feel that  not remembering birthday=not caring for them….so I feel bad if I forget. Are birthdays important milestones? Or are they days like other days, as my husband holds, and should any day when you are healthy and happy be celebrated? As Alice said, one has only one birthday and 364 unbirthdays…what should one do?

A tigress dies...with her unborn family

Yesterday, while we were driving along, got a call on his cellphone which made him swear. Earlier in the evening, he had been given the news that a tigress had died in K.Gudi, in B R Hills. We were speculating about whether it could have been roadkill, or a poaching attempt gone awry...and the call informed him that it was a tigress pregnant with six, yes, SIX, cubs: see today's news at
