Ubuntu - first impressions [Nov. 3rd, 2006|09:04 am] murthys
http://vanook.pavanashree.org/mt-blogs/2006/11/ubuntu_first_im_1.html It took a few hours over the weekend, but I now have converted the old desktop to run Ubuntu 6.06 (from Fedora Core 3). The procedure was fairly painless - once I disabled the onboard floppy disk controller in the BIOS; apparently disconnecting the floppy disk drive isn’t enough - but I daresay you’ll find the installation experience different from the other distributions (atleast as they were the last time I tried them).
